Using Restructured Text markup in WordPress blogs

March 9, 2010

I really like Python, RestructuredText, and the Sphinx Document Generator. So, how could I use ReST in WordPress? I came across Mathias Friedrich’s python conversion tool rst2wp. I gave this a try, and here is my first blog post using the tool 😉

Note

Be sure to select HTML format on top right, when pasting into WordPress’s edit window.

  1. Great, congratulations 🙂

    Welcome and have fun!

  2. There’s a plugin I wrote called WordPreSt that integrates a reSt-friendly tab into the default WordPress editor. It stores the actual reSt source right along side the rendered HTML so you can edit and re-render later if you’d like. You can find it in the WordPress plugin repository or at http://xdissent.com/projects/wordprest/
